Telangana Crime Rate Down 2.33 Percent In 2025

The Telangana crime rate declined by 2.33 percent in 2025, according to the State police chief. Telangana Director General of Police B Shivadhar Reddy said overall crime in the State showed a clear reduction during the year. He shared official figures to explain the trend. Therefore, the data points to improved law and order conditions.

A total of 2,28,695 cases were registered in 2025. This compares with 2,34,158 cases in the previous year. As a result, the State recorded a net fall in crime cases. The DGP said this decline reflected sustained policing efforts. Meanwhile, he noted that both Maoist activities and terror activities remained fully under control.

The DGP said that 504 Maoists surrendered before the Telangana police during the year. This development, he said, strengthened internal security. At the same time, the Telangana crime rate saw mixed trends in other areas. Road accident cases increased by 5.68 percent across the State. However, deaths in road accidents came down by 7.9 persons during the same period.

Cyber crime also showed improvement during 2025. The DGP said cyber crime reduced by 3 percent in the State. In addition, financial losses linked to cyber crime fell by 21 percent. Therefore, enforcement and awareness efforts appeared to limit monetary damage even when online threats continued.

The DGP also referred to event security in the State. He said many important international events were organized without any issue. This, he added, reflected coordinated policing and preventive measures. Overall, the Telangana crime rate data for 2025 indicated lower overall crime, stable internal security, and better control in key areas, even as road safety remained a concern.
