Telangana DGP: We Are On Alert, We Have Rescued 1,200 People

Hyderabad, Aug 28 (Maxim News): State DGP Jitender has responded to the ongoing relief operations in the wake of torrential rains and floods in Telangana. He said that the police system is on alert due to the rains and flood relief operations have been ongoing for 24 hours.

Speaking to the media on Thursday, he said, “The police system is on alert in all areas due to rains and floods.  So far, 1,200 people have been rescued. The flood situation has eased in Kamareddy, Ramayanpet, Nirmal and Medak districts. However, we are still carrying out rescue operations.  The police are participating in rescue operations 24 hours a day along with the rescue team.”

The police are working with SDRF and fire personnel. A major threat was averted as the SDRF teams reached the spot on time. We rescued many people in Kamareddy. We rescued them with boats and life jackets and took them to safe areas. We are monitoring the floods 24 hours a day from the control room, said DGP Jitender.  (Maxim News)
