Measures will be taken to avoid additional burdens on the government. At present the total population of the state is 3.93 crores. There are 89.96 lakh white ration cards. It is known that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy himself recently announced that applications for new ration cards will be accepted in October. Meanwhile, the government has not granted ration cards to the deserving for the last ten years.

Date Extended for Completing E-KYC

In the past, governments issued ration cards without fully investigating their eligibility. Because of this white ration cards were also given to the ineligible. There are also allegations of people having ration cards in their names even though they are not there. To identify the ineligible, the E-KYC system was implemented in October last year. However, the state government has extended the time for completing E-KYC almost six times.

This process ended in March this year. Meanwhile, the government has stated that about 15 lakh people who have given six months have not completed E-KYC.  It is reported that the state government has decided to conduct e-KYC and remove everyone from the ration card list. It seems that the authorities have already reported to the government to cancel all of them.
