Hyderabad, April 30 (Maxim News): Telangana power demand remains under control as the government steps up efforts to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply during peak summer. Deputy Chief Minister and Energy Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka reviewed the situation with senior officials at Praja Bhavan.
He stated that providing continuous power without inconvenience to citizens remains the government’s top priority. Moreover, he noted that rising temperatures have sharply increased electricity consumption across the state.
Officials informed the minister that the use of air conditioners and coolers has surged in homes and offices. Additionally, agricultural requirements have added further pressure on the power grid. As a result, overall Telangana power demand has risen significantly.
Telangana Power Demand to Rise Further
The minister directed officials to procure additional power through exchanges to meet demand. Despite pressure on the national power market, he stressed that the state must avoid any shortage.
Furthermore, he instructed that essential services must not face disruptions. These include hospitals, drinking water supply schemes, and emergency operations. Therefore, continuous monitoring must remain in place.
He also asked officials to fully utilize available power generation stations. In addition, he emphasized efficient management of hydel power generation to balance supply.
Meanwhile, officials warned that temperatures may rise further in the coming days. Hence, all power utilities must work in coordination and prepare contingency plans.
They assured the minister that the state power system remains stable. They added that adequate arrangements are in place to tackle any challenges.
Bhatti Vikramarka reiterated that quality power supply is a priority. He directed field staff to stay alert and respond quickly to issues. Consequently, the government aims to deliver reliable electricity to all consumers.
Senior officials including Special Chief Secretary Navin Mittal, Transco CMD Krishna Bhaskar, Genco CMD Harish, and SPDCL CMD Jithesh V Patil attended the review meeting. (Maxim News)
