Telangana Rains: Financial Assistance Of Rs. 5 Lakhs To Those Families Who Lost Lives

Hyderabad, Sept 2 (Maxim News): Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has announced to increase in ex-gratia to the families of those who had died in the floods. The Chief Minister has decided to increase the financial assistance to the families of the deceased from Rs. 4 lakhs to Rs. 5 lakhs.

The Chief Minister held a review meeting on heavy rains and flood relief in Telangana today, at the command control room on rains, he asked the officials to be on alert in areas where heavy rain is predicted.

Telangana Floods: CM Revanth Seeks Help From Centre

He ordered the establishment of the Call centers in the Collectorates.  He wanted the system to be kept ready in the command control center.  Eight police battalions of the state are trained on the lines of NDRF for emergency services during heavy rains.  The Chief Minister has decided to increase the financial assistance to the families of those who died. The authorities were ordered to respond immediately to the damage caused to the public.  The officials were told to increase the compensation for the cattle, goats, and sheep that died in the floods. He asked to give a comprehensive report to the center on the flood damage.  The Chief Minister has written a letter seeking immediate help from the center.  He has asked the center to consider it as a national calamity.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi asking him to visit the flood-affected areas. Also to the affected districts of Khammam, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Mahabubabad, and Suryapet collectors. CM Revanth issued orders releasing 5 crores for immediate relief. 

Chance of Heavy to Very Heavy Rains Today

On the other hand, the IMD has announced that there is a chance of heavy to very heavy rains today as well.  Due to low pressure in the Bay of Bengal, rains are falling incessantly in many states across the country.  The IMD has warned that Vidarbha in Maharashtra will receive heavy to very heavy rains tomorrow as well.  In this order, IMD has issued a red alert for Vidarbha.  heavy rains will occur in West Madhya Pradesh, Marathwada, Telangana, Gujarat, Assam, and Meghalaya,  IMD has issued an orange alert for West Madhya Pradesh, Marathwada, Telangana, Gujarat, Assam, and Meghalaya.  Two Telugu states are suffering from rain.  Life has come to a standstill.  Colonies after colony are getting stuck in the flood waters.  The situation is worse in Khammam district.  Nizamabad and other districts of Telangana.  Rivers, creeks, and streams are overflowing.  As a result, people are passing the time without knowing what will happen at any moment. They do not come out of their homes unless it is an emergency.  Residents of some areas have completely joined the rehabilitation centers.  (Maxim News)
