Hyderabad, Oct. 10: Around 18.12 lakh electors in Telangana are awaiting decisions on notices issued during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. Their names could be excluded from the final list if their cases remain unresolved.
According to the Telangana Chief Electoral Office, 92,88,187 notices were generated during the exercise. Officials served 92,23,486 notices, while 64,701 remained pending delivery.
Authorities completed hearings for 82,11,205 electors. Of these, 74,62,851 were found eligible for inclusion in the final electoral rolls. Another 12,969 electors were declared ineligible.
Telangana SIR Notices and Final Voter List Schedule
The remaining 18,12,367 electors had yet to receive a decision despite reminders and visits by Booth Level Officers (BLOs). The Election Commission of India has introduced changes to the process, including a preference for online hearings and revised procedures for document collection.
Telangana Chief Electoral Officer C. Sudharsan Reddy said electors who fail to respond to notices could be categorised under the Absent, Shifted, Dead and Duplicate (ASDD) category and removed from the final list.

He said BLOs were visiting households to complete the process. Eligible voters whose names are omitted can apply for enrolment again, he added.
Before the SIR exercise began, Telangana had 3,38,26,448 registered electors. Of these, 2,64,87,213 submitted enumeration forms.
The draft electoral rolls excluded 73,39,235 electors categorised under ASDD. The category covers voters identified as absent, shifted, deceased or registered more than once.
Under the revised schedule, the notice disposal and claims and objections process will conclude on November 5. The final electoral rolls are scheduled for publication on November 9.
