Telangana SIR: Azharuddin alleges Muslim votes could be targeted

Telangana SIR | Hyderabad, June 17 (Maxim News): Minister Mohammed Azharuddin claimed today that the upcoming SIR exercise could be used to remove Muslim voters from the rolls, and warned of a similar conspiracy in Telangana as he said BJP allegedly gained power in West Bengal and Bihar by erasing Muslim votes.

Speaking to the media, he urged voters to stay alert and protect their own names on the list, saying election outcomes depend on how many votes are removed.

He also said he always speaks honestly and is comfortable in English, noting that Telugu is a little difficult for him, though he can read and write it.

On governance, Azharuddin defended his government under CM Revanth Reddy, saying opposition criticism is expected.

Azharuddin highlighted the state’s focus on education, confirmed that fee reimbursements pending during the KCR era are being paid, and said he has helped many poor people since taking office.

Minister Azharuddin added that he is not keen on publicity, but more than 200 people have sought help, and he has instructed officials to resolve their issues immediately. (Maxim News)
