Telangana TET 2026 exams | Hyderabad, Jan 3 (Maxim News): Telangana TET 2026 examinations commenced across the state on Saturday in online mode, according to the School Education Department.

The Telangana TET 2026 exams will continue until January 20 at designated test centers.

Officials said candidates must reach their allotted exam centers at least ninety minutes before the reporting time.

Authorities will close entry gates as per schedule, and latecomers will not be allowed inside. Candidates must carry their hall ticket along with an original government issued identity card.

Electronic devices are strictly prohibited inside exam centers, officials reiterated. Candidates were advised to verify all details on the hall ticket after downloading it.

If the photograph or signature is unclear, candidates must affix a photo and obtain attestation from a gazetted officer.

Candidates will be permitted to leave the exam hall only after the examination ends. Officials said these measures aim to ensure transparency, fairness, and smooth conduct of the Telangana TET 2026 exams.

Telangana TET 2026 exams | High participation and legal mandate

A total of 2,37,754 candidates registered for the Telangana TET 2026 exams, covering both Paper I and Paper II. Of these, 71,670 are in service teachers currently working in government and aided schools.

In service teachers applied following the Supreme Court ruling that made TET mandatory nationwide. The judgment applies to both new recruits and serving teachers who have not qualified earlier. The ruling seeks to standardize teacher eligibility and improve education quality.

The Education Department established 97 examination centers across Telangana for the test. Officials said additional monitoring teams were deployed to prevent malpractice.

The department also coordinated with local authorities to manage traffic and security near exam venues.

TET qualification is required for recruitment to primary and upper primary teaching posts. The examination is considered a key benchmark in teacher recruitment across India.
