Telangana to File Review Petition in SC on NGT Order: Jagadish Reddy
Suryapet, Oct. 6 (NSS): Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy said that the State government would approach the Supreme Court and would file a review petition on the orders of the National Green Tribunal (NGT) in connection with the stalling of works of the Yadadri Thermal Power Plant.
Speaking to the media here on Thursday, Minister Jagadish Reddy said the State government had started the construction of Yadadri Thermal Power Plant works at Damaracherla in Nalgonda district after obtaining all environment clearances from the union government and had spent crores of rupees on it to complete the project as early as possible.
“There is a conspiracy going on to stop the power plant works. The NGT verdict is unilateral and it will cause a loss to the entire country. It is in no way justified to issue an order for the stoppage of the thermal plant after spending thousands of crores of rupees on the State government for it. We strongly believe that some invisible forces are behind the verdict,” Jagadish Reddy alleged.
A Mumbai-based organization filed the case in the NGT. It is in no way related to the Yadadri Power plant. Definitely, there is a conspiracy behind it, he said.
The Minister said the works were going on at a brisk pace to complete the project and the State government would start generating power from the plant as early as possible.
He assured that the State government would wage a legal fight against the NGT order and would file a review petition in the Supreme Court. (NSS)
