Telangana Top In Liquor Consumption: Each Person Spends Rs. 1,623 Per Year

Delhi/Hyderabad, Oct 31 (Maxim News): Telangana is at the top among the states that consume the most alcohol in the country. The National Institute of Public Finance and Policy in Delhi (NIPFP) said that on average, each person spends Rs. 1623 on liquor. After that, Andhra Pradesh is in the second position with Rs. 1`306 and Punjab is in the third position with Rs. 1245.

Any festival or function in Telangana has to have a drug party. A party should have a piece along with a dot. But while Telangana is at the top among the states that consume the most alcohol in the country. Andhra Pradesh is in the second position. Alcohol also earns the government thousands of crores of rupees annually.

NIPFP has released a list of how much drug addicts spend on alcohol per year on average in AA States across the country. According to this report, Telangana stood first in the average expenditure of a person on alcohol while AP stood second. The states that spent the least were West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Tripura, and Madhya Pradesh.

According to the calculations for 2022-23, an average person spends Rs. 1623 on liquor in Telangana, NIPFP said. This is the highest number of alcohol drinkers in the country. Andhra Pradesh stood at the second position with an expenditure of Rs. 1306. Punjab at the third position with Rs. 1245, Chhattisgarh at the fourth position with Rs. 1227, and Odisha at the fifth position with Rs. 1156. No matter what festival or party comes to the state, it is a tradition to consume alcohol. With this, Telangana has come first in the list of states that spend the most on alcohol.

West Bengal ranks first in the list of states where people spend the least on alcohol. In 2022-23, an average person in West Bengal spent only Rs. 4 on liquor,  the report said. Uttar Pradesh has the highest population in the country, here each person spends only Rs. 49 per year on alcohol on an average.  (Maxim News)
