Hyderabad, Feb 19: Mild tension prevailed at Saifabad on Friday night after a policeman allegedly hit a woman with a stick while trying to disperse a crowd after an accident.
According to the police, the incident happened around midnight when the driver of a private bus was stopped by people travelling in a car after the former drove the bus rashly. A fight ensued between the driver of the bus and car driver.
On information a police team led by Sub-inspector Y Suraj Kumar reached the spot and tried to disperse the crowd. The SI allegedly hit a woman with a stick, following which more people gathered, demanding action against the cop.
Following the trouble, a huge police force was mobilized.
“The car driver Rizwan of Bowenpally was attacked by the bus driver and passengers. A case will be booked against all of them. Also action will be initiated against the sub inspector,” said Additional DCP (West) Iqbal Siddiqui.
