Tensions Escalated In Medak As Another Mass Movement Emerged: Sunitha Lakshma Reddy Arrested
Medak/Hyderabad, Feb 5 (Maxim News): Tensions have escalated in Medak district as another mass movement emerges, reminiscent of the Lagad Cherla protests.
In a significant development, Narsapur BRS MLA Sunitha Lakshma Reddy has been arrested as she came in support of the villagers strongly protesting a proposed dumping yard in Pyaranagar, Gummadidala Mandal. The arrest of Sunita Lakshma Reddy further intensified the situation.
Speaking on this occasion, Sunita Lakshma Reddy said residents from ten villages have come together to voice their protest, fearing environmental and health hazards.
Tensions Escalated In Medak
In response, police forces have surrounded the affected villages, creating an atmosphere of tension. Several villagers, including women, have alleged that their family members were illegally detained in the middle of the night, with no information on their whereabouts.
The situation remains volatile as protests continue to gain momentum. Authorities have yet to release an official statement on the arrests or the future of the dumping yard project. (Maxim News)
