- WhatsApp chatbot services by TGSPDCL for electricity consumers
- AI powered chatbot launched by CMD Musharraf Farooqui to prevent cyber fraud
Hyderabad: South Telangana Electricity Distribution Company Limited, also known as TGSPDCL, has launched WhatsApp chatbot services to assist electricity consumers. The move aims to provide faster and more efficient services through a simple messaging platform.
Consumers must first save the phone number 87124 41912 on WhatsApp. Then, by sending a message saying Hi, they can access several services. These include registering complaints, tracking their progress, checking billing details, and getting updates on electricity supply status. The company has made the process simple so that consumers can get information quickly.
TGSPDCL CMD Musharraf Farooqui said that the chatbot services with AI (Artificial intelligence) technology have been introduced to offer more efficient and faster services to electricity consumers. He explained that digital tools can help reduce response time and improve service delivery. Therefore, the company has adopted AI based support through WhatsApp.
AI chatbot helps consumers verify electricity bills
Meanwhile, the company has also highlighted concerns over cyber fraud. Musharraf Farooqui said that in recent times, cyber criminals have been making threatening phone calls saying, “Your electricity bill is pending. If you do not pay it immediately, we will stop the supply tonight. ” Such calls have caused confusion among consumers.
However, the new WhatsApp chatbot allows users to verify accurate bill information directly. In such situations, consumers can check the real status of their electricity bill by sending Hi on WhatsApp. This step helps them avoid falling victim to fraudulent calls. It also ensures that they receive official and verified information from TGSPDCL.
The launch of the WhatsApp chatbot marks a shift towards digital service delivery. It provides a direct and accessible communication channel for electricity consumers across South Telangana.
