Hyderabad, Aug 3 (Maxim News): The Dundigal police booked three minor boys under the POCSO Act for allegedly sexually assaulting two other minors at a state-run residential school in Bowrampet.
According to information available, the alleged victims disclosed the incident to their parents while they were returning home during a recent weekend holiday on Sunday. One victim’s father subsequently filed a complaint at the Dundigal police station.
Following the complaint, police registered a case and are inquiring into all the aspects of the complaint. They are recording statements from the victims, the suspect students and other hostel residents to establish the facts and timeline.
Authorities are coordinating with child welfare professionals and legal officers as required under POCSO procedures.
Meanwhile, police have maintained that, in accordance with POCSO rules, the identities and personal details of the child victims cannot be disclosed to protect their privacy. (Maxim News)
