Tiger Kills Calf, Villagers Fear For Their Lives And Crops In Asifabad
Komaram Bheem Asifabad/Hyderabad, Nov 28 (Maxim News): A tiger killed a calf grazing in the forests of Sonapur village in Wankidi mandal on Thursday, sending villagers on the edge.

Villagers said that a tiger killed a calf by attacking it while grazing in the forests of Sonapur, which was located on the borders of Telangana and Maharashtra states early in the morning.
They suspected a tiger that injured five cows of a herd at Dhaba village on Sunday might have attacked the calf.

They said that the tiger sighted at an eco-bridge near Goyagaon village in Wankidi mandal on NH 363 indulged in the attack.
They stated that they were now hesitating to harvest the cotton crop, following the movement of the tiger. They requested officials of the forest department to take steps to prevent human loss.

The Forest officials said that they were tracking the movement of the tiger by installing CCTV camera traps and deploying animal trackers. They advised the villagers to avoid sudden confrontations with the tiger and not to venture deep inside the forests.
They urged farmers not to harm the tiger by setting electrified fences meant to prevent damage to crops by wild animals. (Maxim News)
