Hyderabad, Sept. 12: Traffic police diverted heavy vehicles near the Telangana Assembly on Saturday after protesters gathered near the premises.
The protesters included GHMC garbage workers, students and members of other groups.
Police noticed protesters arriving near the Assembly in buses and took precautionary measures.
Buses and other heavy vehicles from Public Gardens were diverted towards Basheerbagh and Liberty Junction.
Traffic Diversions Affect Hyderabad Commuters
The diversion forced buses heading towards Lakdikapool to take an additional route of nearly three kilometres.
The move caused inconvenience to commuters travelling through the area.
Police made the diversions to prevent protesters from reaching the Assembly premises.
The precautionary measures followed attempts by different groups to move towards the Assembly.
