Traffic Restrictions in Hyderabad Today for Hanuman Jayanti Celebrations

Traffic Restrictions | Hyderabad, April 12: Hyderabad is observing Hanuman Jayanti with major processions, leading to significant traffic restrictions across the city. The Hyderabad Traffic Police have issued advisories to ensure smooth conduct of the festivities and to minimize inconvenience to commuters.​

The principal procession, known as the Hanuman Vijay Yatra, will commence at 11:00 AM from Sri Ram Mandir in Gowliguda and conclude at Sri Hanuman Temple in Tadbund, Secunderabad, around 8:00 PM. The 12.2 km route will traverse several key areas, including Putlibowli, Koti, Sultan Bazar, Kachiguda, Narayanguda, RTC Crossroads, Ashok Nagar, Gandhi Nagar, Kavadiguda, CGO Towers, Paradise Junction, and CTO Junction, before reaching Tadbund. ​

Additional Procession from Karmanghat

An auxiliary procession will start from Karmanghat Hanuman Temple under the Rachakonda Commissionerate. This procession will enter Hyderabad city limits at Champapet and pass through IS Sadan, Saidabad, Dilsukhnagar, Malakpet, and Chaderghat, eventually merging with the main procession at the DM&HS junction. This route covers approximately 10.8 km. ​

Traffic Restrictions and Diversions:

Traffic restrictions will be enforced from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM along the procession routes. Motorists are advised to avoid these areas during the specified times.

Key intersections such as Putlibowli X Road, Andhra Bank X Road, Kachiguda X Road, Narayanaguda X Road, and Paradise Junction will experience diversions. ​

Suggested Alternative Routes (2:00 PM to 7:00 PM):

To facilitate smoother traffic flow, the police have recommended the following alternative routes:​

Lakdikapul to Secunderabad Station/Uppal: Use VV Statue → Somajiguda → Greenlands → Begumpet Flyover → Prakashnagar Flyover → Paradise Flyover.​

From Paradise: Take a left to JBS, right to Secunderabad Station, or continue straight towards St. John’s Rotary for Uppal. ​

Security Measures:

In anticipation of large gatherings, over 17,000 police personnel have been deployed across Hyderabad to maintain law and order during the Hanuman Jayanti celebrations and the IPL 2025 match scheduled for the same day. A joint control room will operate from the Integrated Command Control Centre (ICCC) starting at 8:00 AM to monitor events. ​

Advisory to Citizens:

Residents and commuters are urged to plan their travel accordingly, avoiding the procession routes during the restricted hours. The Hyderabad Traffic Police have requested cooperation to ensure the safety and success of the Hanuman Jayanti festivities.
