Secunderabad, 20 Jul 2023: The 2023 Durand Cup will be the 132nd edition of the tournament, the oldest existing club football tournament in Asia. It is an annual event hosted by the Durand Football Tournament Society in collaboration with the Indian Army, on behalf of the three services. This year the tournament is being conducted at Kolkata by HQ Eastern Command under the aegis of Durand Football Tournament Society.
The trophy tour of the prestigious Durand Cup reached Air Force Academy Dundigal, Hyderabad on 20Jul 2023. The trophies were unveiled by Air Marshal B Chandra Sekhar, AVSM, Commandant Air Force Academy.
General Anil Chauhan, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, SM, VSM Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) is the President of the tournament. The three Service Chiefs are its Vice Presidents.
The Trophy tour is planned in various parts of the country to generate enthusiasm among the young generation and inspire them. The 132nd Durand Cup begins on 03 Aug 2023 in Kolkata with the final scheduled on 03 Sep 2023.
