TRS, BJP Govts making mockery of Centre-State relationship: Congress

Hyderabad, Sept.5 (Maxim News): Accusing TRS Government in Telangana and BJP Govt at the Centre of making a mockery of Centre-State relationship, the Congress party on Sunday demanded a White Paper on how Centre responded to the representations made by Telangana in the last seven years.

Former Minister Mohammed Ali Shabbir, in a media statement on Sunday, alleged that BJP and TRS parties have took the spirit of federalism to a new low with their governments adopting informal approach to public issues.
“Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao met Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a courtesy and submitted a bunch of 16 various representations. It was nothing but a formality as none of them had any pre-briefing on issues to be discussed in the meeting. CM KCR had submitted similar bunches of representations during his earlier visits to New Delhi. The petitions submitted by CM KCR now will meet the same fate as the previous ones and all will remain unresolved,” he said.

The Congress leader demanded that the Chief Minister release a White Paper on representations made with the Centre in the last seven years and the Centre’s response to those submissions. He also demanded that the Centre release State-wise details of funds and aid granted since 2014 which would expose the injustices done with Telangana.

Shabbir Ali alleged that CM KCR met PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah only to legitimise the huge expenses his party leaders have incurred using public money during their Delhi visit. “KCR, other ministers and TRS leader went in a chartered flight to lay foundation for their party office in Delhi. Since they misused the public money, they tried to legitimise the expenses by making a few representation to Central ministers,” he alleged.

The Congress leader said that both BJP and TRS were secret allies and they survive on the plank of ‘Galli mein kushti, Delhi mein dosti’. He advised Telangana BJP President Bandi Sanjay to wind up his padyatra as his party’s friendship with KCR has been exposed. “While Bandi Sanjay was threatening to send KCR family to jail in Hyderabad, CM KCR and PM Modi were doing ‘chai pe charcha’ in Delhi. It is high time that both parties stop misleading the people. TRS should merge itself with the BJP or officially join the NDA,” he advised. (Maxim News)
