TSRTC Unions & Oppn Parties To Seek Centre’s Intervention On Stir
Hyderabad, Nov.2 (Maxim News): Even as the TSRTC employees’ strike entered 29th day on Saturday, JAC chief Ashwathama Reddy, along with Opposition parties said they will seek intervention of the Centre on the stir as the State government was not resolving it.
Ashwathama Reddy told media persons that they will meet with Union Home Minister Amith Shah on November 4 or 5 and urge the Centre to intervene and end the month-long strike in Telangana. “We will continue the strike until the government calls them for talks and end the row”, he said.
With leaders of left parties CPI’s Chada Venkat Reddy, CPM’s Thammineni Veerabhadram, TTDP’s Ravula Chandrasekhar Reddy, TJS chief Kodandaram and people’s organizations. The TSRTC JAC organized a silent protest for an hour at the Gun Park opposite Assembly building complex.
Speaking on the occasion, the JAC leaders demanded that Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao change his mind and hold talks successfully and end the month-long strike. They also accused the Chief Minister of deliberately suppressing the RTC employees’ strike. The RTC JAC chief said there was no need to fear as the Centre was yet to bifurcate the APSRTC among the two Telugu States of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
The TSRTC JAC and all other parties will stage protests at depots in the villages on November 3, with political parties on November 4, Sadak Bandh on November 5, at depots on November 6 and ChaloTank Bund on November 9. (Maxim News)
