Two more SRDP projects to be inaugurated on Wednesday

Hyderabad, March 15: Two major infrastructure projects, developed as part of the Strategic Road Development Plan (SRDP) to decongest traffic in the eastern part of the city, will be inaugurated on Wednesday.

Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister, KT Rama Rao will inaugurate the Bairamalguda Left Hand Side (LHS) Flyover built with a cost of Rs 28.64 crore and LB Nagar Right Hand Side (RHS) underpass built with a cost of Rs 40 crore. Both these prestigious projects have been executed successfully on time by GHMC.

While the Bairamalguda flyover will ease traffic coming from Owaisi Hospital junction and moving towards Uppal Junction, the underpass will ease the traffic coming from Uppal and moving towards Owaisi Junction.

The benefits of these projects include a smooth commute on the Uppal-Owaisi Junction route (both ways) and substantial savings in terms of travelling time, said GHMC in a press release. These facilities, apart from increasing commute speed, will enhance road safety and level of service for the road users, in addition to reducing pollution, the GHMC said.

In the last few years, the Uppal- LB Nagar stretch has turned into a busy locality with many dwelling units, office spaces and commercial establishments mushrooming along the road, which has increased the traffic density. Due to the state government’s growth in dispersion policy, companies are also expanding in the eastern part of the city further increasing the traffic density on the Uppal-LB Nagar stretch.
