According to the orders, officials will collect this amount at the time of registration. Therefore, buyers must factor in the additional cost while purchasing new vehicles.

Under the new rules, cars, autos carrying passengers, and other non transport vehicles must pay between ₹2,000 and ₹10,000 as road safety tax. The Transport Department has clearly stated that authorities will collect this tax during registration.
