Unauthorized Villas Demolished in Manikonda’s Chitrapuri Colony
Hyderabad: In a firm move against illegal constructions, the Manikonda Municipality carried out a demolition drive on Tuesday in Chitrapuri Colony, under the Rajendranagar constituency. Several villas that were reportedly built without official approval were demolished to the ground.
Acting on the orders of Municipal Commissioner Pradeep Kumar, the operation was led by Town Planning Officer Santosh Singh and his team. According to officials, several villas in the area were found to have been built without proper approvals from the municipality. Despite repeated notices and warnings, the builders went ahead with the construction, ignoring official regulations.
“These villas were constructed in complete violation of planning norms. They had no sanctioned plans and were built without following basic legal procedures,” said a municipal official involved in the demolition. The illegal structures were completely razed, sending a clear message to others who may be considering similar violations.
The municipality has also issued a strict warning to developers and individual property owners, urging them to follow the proper approval process before beginning any construction. Authorities stressed that such actions are necessary to maintain order in rapidly developing zones like Manikonda, which already faces pressure on infrastructure and civic services.
This crackdown also serves as a reminder for homebuyers to be cautious. Citizens are advised to always check for valid documents such as building permits and layout approvals before purchasing any property.
As Hyderabad continues to expand, officials say the focus will remain on promoting sustainable, legal development and preventing unregulated construction that could lead to long-term urban challenges.
