Hyderabad, May 6 (Maxim News) : Women safety operation took a serious turn after Sumathi IPS conducted an undercover mission in Dilsukhnagar to assess ground realities. She disguised herself as a common woman and stood alone at a bus stand past midnight.
Within minutes, nearly 40 men allegedly surrounded and harassed her. The shocking incident exposed how unsafe public spaces can become for women at night. Therefore, police teams, already deployed nearby, acted swiftly and detained the accused.
Women safety operation reveals ground reality
The women safety operation continued from around 12 am to 3:30 am in Dilsukhnagar. During this period, several men approached the officer with inappropriate remarks. This highlighted the serious risks faced by women during late hours.
Police confirmed that most of the detained individuals were students and employees. Moreover, officials found that some of them were under the influence of substances. Subsequently, police conducted counselling sessions for all 40 افراد to address their behavior.
Officials stated that this operation aimed to understand real time challenges faced by women. As a result, it provided direct evidence of harassment in public areas. The commissioner’s initiative also sent a strong warning against misconduct.
Meanwhile, authorities stressed that strict action will follow in such cases. They also urged citizens to ensure safer public environments for women.
