The unemployed youth protest intensified when police detained several participants who were staging a demonstration at the City Central Library. During the detention, some activists suffered bruises and reported that their clothes were torn. Meanwhile, the protesters raised slogans and demanded that the government honour its Assembly election promise of filling up 2 lakh vacancies. They said the delay in issuing job notifications had caused distress and uncertainty among job seekers.

Speaking during the protest, the unemployed youth expressed anger over what they described as broken promises by the Congress party. They said the party came to power by assuring people of transparent governance. However, the situation during the protest led to further resentment. “The Congress party came to power by making us believe that they provide people’s governance. By locking us inside the library – Is this Praja Palana? The Congress betrayed us by promising 2 lakh jobs within one year in the government,” said Narender, an unemployed youth preparing for Groups’ recruitment.

Meanwhile, women candidates preparing for Group recruitment also voiced their concerns to the media. One aspirant said they remained unsure about when recruitment notifications would be released. “Parents are struggling so much to provide education to us for our better future. But the government is not even bothered about our issues. Despite there being clear vacancies in various departments, the government is not notifying them. We demand the government immediately release notifications,” she said.

The unemployed youth protest highlighted growing frustration among job aspirants in Telangana. They said delays in recruitment were affecting their careers and family lives. The protesters warned that they would continue their agitation until the government announced a clear job calendar and issued recruitment notifications as promised.
