UNESCO recognition to Ramappa is a matter of pride : Kishan Reddy

Hyderabad, Oct.21 (Maxim News): Union Minister of tourism and culture G.Kishan Reddy today said that the recognition of UNESCO to state based Ramappa temple was a matter on pride for the people of Telangana and the country. He said that Ramappa got the rare recognition despite the presence of so many ancient structures in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh states.

Claiming that some people tried to prevent the conferment of the recognition on the Ramappa temple, he said that they were able to get the recognition with the support of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that they had also given funds to the state government to provide Infrastructure in all tourism places of Telangana.

He said that the works at many such tourism places were going on with the help of the central government funds. He made these remarks while talking to media persons after visiting the Ramappa temple in Mulugu district of the state.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that they would develop Warangal based thousand pillar temple and Warangal fort by spending funds of the central government. He said that foreign tourists did not visit the state due to the spread of corona virus and added that the foreign tourists were now eager to visit the state as the impact of the corona virus has come down in Telangana.

He said that the central government was ready to sanction an airport to the central government and added that the tourism sector would develop in Warangal district if the airport was sanctioned to the district. He said that they would operate planes to Warangal at low air fares. He said that he would get the airport under udaan scheme of the central government if the state government gave land to them for the establishment of the airport.

Commenting on the corona virus , he said that the country did not look towards the foreign countries of the world for the Covid vaccines. He said that the country had produced the vaccine indigenously and added that they had administered 100 crore vaccines to the people of the country so far . Reddy said that they would soon give the vaccines to those between the age group of 12 years to 18 years . The union minister performed special prayers at Gattamma temple during his visit.
