Iran has accused the US and Israel of attacking a civilian plane carrying medical supplies and equipment from several countries to Mashhad airport. The plane was damaged in the attack, it said. The Iranian Civil Aviation Ministry strongly condemned the attack, the embassy said. It said targeting civilian planes carrying humanitarian aid is a violation of international law.

It called on international organizations to take immediate action and hold those responsible accountable. India is providing humanitarian assistance to the people of Iran in the wake of the war. As part of that, a Mahan Air plane was scheduled to arrive in India this week to carry medicines and medical equipment. It was attacked while it was at Mashhad airport.
