Hyderabad, Aug.22 (Maxim News): An urn containing holy chitha-bhasmam (ashes) of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee will be kept at the State BJP office at Nampally for the people to pay their respects to the departed leader.
The ashes airlifted from Delhi this evening would be kept at the State party office till 11 am on Thursday for public darshan, BJP sources said. Later the ashes would be immersed in the rivers Krishna and Musi on Thursday.
According to the program, the ashes would be immersed in Krishna river at Triveni Sangam at Vadepalli in Nalgonda district. The ashes’ immersion yatra would be led by BJP national general secretary P Murlidhar Rao and State party general secretary Dr G Manohar Reddy. The yatra would pass through Nalgonda crossroads, Kottapet district court complex, Hayatnagar, Choutuppal, Chityala and Miryalguda.
The ashes of Vajpayee would be taken to Basara temple near Nizamabad in a procession for immersion in the Krishna river by a team of party leaders led by BJP State president Dr K Laxman and national general secretary P Murlidhar Rao. The yatra would pass through Medchal, Ramayampet, Kamareddy and Nizamabad. The second yatra would pass through Langerhouse, Aare Maisamma crossroads in Bandlaguda, Moinabad, Chevella, Manneguda and Vikarabad.
Another team led by former Union minister Bandaru Dattatraya and party floor leader in Assembly G Kishan Reddy would take ashes to Anantagiri in Vikarabad district for immersion in the river Musi. (Maxim News)
