- Vande Bharat Train on Tirupati Secunderabad route turns orange
- Vande Bharat Train expanded to 20 coaches due to passenger demand
Hyderabad: The Vande Bharat Train running between Tirupati and Secunderabad is now operating in a distinct orange colour. The change marks a visual shift for the popular semi high speed service, which earlier ran in white. The train has also grown in size over time, reflecting rising passenger demand on the busy route.
According to the available information, the Tirupati Secunderabad Vande Bharat Train began operations on April 9, 2023. Initially, the service ran with eight coaches. However, passenger response remained strong. Therefore, railway authorities increased the number of coaches in phases. First, the rake expanded to 16 coaches. Later, due to further demand, it increased again. It has now become a 20 coach Vande Bharat Train.
Meanwhile, the train now operates fully in orange colour. This makes it unique among Vande Bharat services. Out of 102 Vande Bharat Trains running across the country, this is the only one that runs exclusively in orange colour. Earlier, the same train had a white exterior. The change has drawn attention as the colour stands out from other Vande Bharat rakes.
Vande Bharat Train capacity and Tirupati route details
With 20 coaches, the Tirupati Secunderabad Vande Bharat Train now has a seating capacity of 1,440 passengers. This also places it among the largest Vande Bharat Trains currently in operation. The train runs through Tirupati, a major pilgrimage and travel hub. As a result, passenger demand has remained consistently high.
Officials introduced additional coaches only after observing sustained demand from travellers. Therefore, the expansion reflects usage patterns rather than a temporary adjustment. The orange coloured rake now completes regular services on the route, maintaining the same operational role as before.
Later, the service continued to be highlighted for its scale and appearance. The train’s growth from eight coaches to 20 coaches shows how demand shaped its evolution. However, apart from the colour change and coach increase, no other operational details were mentioned. The Vande Bharat Train remains a key service linking Tirupati and Secunderabad, now with higher capacity and a distinct orange look.
