Vote To Save Democracy: Venkaiah Naidu
Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu said that if India continued to grow at the current rate, it was poised to become the world’s third largest economy.
The world economy was slowing down and so was neighbouring China’s economy, but that of India was on the rise. World over, reforms being introduced in India were followed and discussed extensively, Naidu said here on Thursday.
Delivering the 16th memorial lecture at the 91st birthday anniversary celebrations of Badrivishal Pannalal Pitti, the Vice-President appealed to the people to cast their vote in the Lok Sabha elections.
“Vote is our responsibility to save democracy. People should elect leaders who have character, calibre, capability and conduct. Politics is now driven by caste, community, cash and criminality of candidates and this is a dangerous trend,” he pointed out.
