Jadcherla/Hyderabad, Nov 20 (Maxim News): A serious road accident took place on the 44th National Highway at Jadcherla Macharam in Mahabubnagar district. Another private travel bus passing over the bridge narrowly avoided an accident.
The accident occurred when Jagan’s travel bus hit a tanker carrying hydrochloric acid from behind. A major accident was averted as there was no possibility of the chemical in the tanker catching fire. Although smoke was coming out of the tanker, a major accident was averted as the fire was controlled in time. It is understood that there were 40 passengers in the bus at the time of the accident.
The incident took place at Macharam in Jadcherla mandal while it was going from Chittoor to Hyderabad. The passengers in the bus were rescued from the accident and sent to another bus. Traffic on the national highway was paralysed due to the accident.
According to the details given by Jadcherla Town CI Kamalakar, Jagan’s travel bus left Chittoor for Hyderabad with passengers. In this sequence, upon reaching Jadcherla town, Jagan’s travel bus hit a hydrochloric acid tanker moving ahead at the Macharam flyover bridge from behind. As a result, the tanker leaked chemicals and fell on the road, causing smoke to rise.
Sensing the accident, the driver alerted the passengers in the bus, and everyone got down on alert. In this accident, some passengers got down through the emergency door and escaped with minor injuries. Upon learning of the matter, the fire brigade immediately reached the spot and brought the smoke coming from the chemical leakage under control.
City CI Kamalakar, who was informed about the matter, responded and reached the scene. The victims of the bus accident were taken to Hyderabad in another vehicle. Due to this incident, traffic was jammed for about three kilometers on both sides of National Highway 44. Due to this, motorists are facing serious problems. People, who were shocked by the recent series of bus accidents, were worried after the bus accident in Jadcherla once again. Everyone breathed a sigh of relief as no one was injured. (Maxim News)
