Watch: GHMC Commissioner, Mumtaz Ahmed Khan inspects Nala Desilting Works in Old City

Hyderabad, Feb 6 (Maxim News): The GHMC  has taken up nala desilting works on priority duly taking up social audit theme to have more clear transparency while taking up these works said Dr. B. Janardhan Reddy, Commissioner, GHMC here on Monday while inspecting on Moulla ka Chillah in Old City where nala desilting works are being taken up.

The Commissioner, GHMC along with Mumtaz Ahmed Khan, MLA, Yakutpura Constituency inspected one of the nala near Yakutpura Railway Station while on inspection the Commissioner said that the GHMC will provide ex-gratia to the deceased who died in the nala with financial assistance through bank.

The GHMC is very keen in clear transparency while taking up this nala desiltation works if anybody found with irregularities they will not be spared warned the Commissioner.  To this effect the works taken up the residents of the area should play a vital role duly signing on the document and issuing a clearance certificate for the payment.

The Commissioner said that lot of unauthorized constructions are coming up duly encroaching nalas and also it has been observed that lot of garbage and other wastes are being dumped in the nalas for which the GHMC is planning to construct slabs on the nalas in this context he was anger over the  officials for their negligence and clear directions were given to the Engineering, Town Planning and connected wings to take up the responsibility while performing their duties in a  proper manner.

The GHMC is also planning to remove the unauthorized encroachments all along the nalas a joint inspection with connected departments like HMWS&SB, Police to sort out the issues at the earliest.  Earlier the Commissioner along with the MLA, Yakutpura and other public representatives held a review meeting at the Zonal Office at South Zone.
