Hyderabad: A movie style theft unfolded in broad daylight on the outskirts of Bengaluru, where four assailants looted Rs 31.38 lakh in a matter of seconds. The robbery took place within the limits of the Bannerghatta police station on Sunday. The incident occurred on a busy main road, while motorists watched in shock, according to police information.

The victim was riding a scooty when the attackers struck. They threatened him with a long knife, snatched a bag containing cash, took away the scooty, and fled. The bold robbery happened quickly and left bystanders stunned. The crime later sparked concern after CCTV footage of the incident surfaced on social media.

The police identified the victim as Kailash, an employee of Udan Company. On Sunday evening, he left with Rs 31.38 lakh belonging to the company. He hid the cash in a bag and travelled towards Bannerghatta on his scooty. When he reached Kalwara Road, four men riding two bikes surrounded him. They blocked his path and forced him to stop.

According to police details, the attackers immediately threatened Kailash with a long knife. They snatched the bag containing the cash. Then, they also took away the scooty. Three of the accused fled on two bikes, while one escaped on the scooty. The entire movie style theft lasted only a few seconds. Later, the assailants abandoned the scooty a few kilometres away and disappeared.

After the incident, Kailash went straight to the Bannerghatta police station and lodged a complaint. The police registered a case and launched an investigation. They examined CCTV footage from the area, which captured the robbery clearly. Based on these visuals, officers began efforts to identify and trace the assailants.

Meanwhile, the CCTV video of the robbery went viral on social media. Many netizens reacted with shock and fear. Some commented, “It’s surprising that such robberies are happening not only abroad but also in India.” Another reaction read, “They haven’t killed the man for money yet.” These comments reflected public concern over safety and rising crime.

The police continue to analyse the footage and follow leads. They are working to identify the suspects involved in the movie style theft.
