Shooting at Khazana Jewellery | Hyderabad: A daring armed robbery attempt at the Khazana Jewellery store in Chandanagar on Tuesday led to a gunfight, leaving the store’s deputy manager injured.

According to police, six assailants entered the store and threatened staff at gunpoint, demanding the locker keys. When the staff refused, the attackers opened fire, injuring the deputy manager in the leg.

The gang also damaged CCTV cameras, broke display cases containing gold ornaments, and assaulted store employees. Two rounds were fired during the incident. After committing the crime, the suspects fled towards Zaheerabad.

Frightened staff alerted the police, prompting a swift response. On spotting the approaching police teams, the robbers fled the scene.

Authorities have formed ten special teams to track down the suspects, and a manhunt is underway.

The incident has sparked serious concerns about security in commercial areas and the safety of jewellery establishments. Police officials have confirmed that further details will be revealed as the investigation progresses and more information becomes available.

Authorities are urging shop owners to enhance security protocols and remain vigilant, especially during opening and closing hours.
