There is no comparison. Watches are bought for different reasons such as — status symbols, gifting(for anniversaries, milestone achievements, 40 to 50% sales happen for this reason), accessorizing, and means of self-expression– who you are. Your watch tells a story about who you are. None of these are possible by mobile phone, said Suparna Mitra.

The CEO of Titan delved into the core values, and challenges during the pandemic, her leadership skills, strategies behind brands, and operational mantras, that have guided the Tata Group to become India’s pride and a globally respected powerhouse. Titan is a people-centric company. If I say it is people-oriented, how can it simultaneously be performance-oriented? you may ask.  If you take care of the people, people will take care of the company, she said.

Watches were the worst hit category during the pandemic as they’re the most non-essential items, she shared.

Besides being a CEO of TitanWatches, she is currently serving on the Board of Governors of IIM Kozhikode and has previously served on the board of Tata Power Solar. She is also an Independent Director of the Board of Swiggy.
