White Waters Scam: Rs 270 Crore Fraud Probed

A major real estate fraud has surfaced in Hyderabad after several victims complained of being cheated by the White Waters Construction company in Kukatpally. The alleged White Waters scam involves a reported fraud of Rs 270 crore. Based on victim complaints, officials of the Economic Offences Wing of the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate registered a case and began an investigation.

According to the information available, the victims approached the EOW after they were allegedly duped in the name of real estate investment. The company operated an apartment project called White Waters near the Kukatpally Y Junction. Meanwhile, police said the project attracted hundreds of buyers over several years. However, the promised outcomes did not materialise, which led victims to seek legal action.

Police said the company allegedly collected about Rs 270 crore from around 500 customers. The victims stated in their complaint that the accused collected money in the name of the White Waters project for nearly ten years. Therefore, the scale of the alleged fraud drew serious attention from investigators. Also, officials noted that the number of affected buyers ran into hundreds, making the case significant for the Cyberabad police.

Based on the complaints, the Cyberabad EOW registered a case against Ajay, the owner of White Waters Construction. Police registered cases against the accused under various sections of law. Later, officials confirmed that the investigation was underway to examine financial transactions and project claims. However, police have not shared further details as the probe continues.

Meanwhile, the victims have demanded justice. They said they invested their life’s hard work in plots linked to the project. They also demanded that the accused be punished severely and that their money be returned. The victims further urged authorities to take strict action against those involved in such frauds to prevent similar cases in the future.

The White Waters scam has once again raised concerns about alleged real estate frauds in Hyderabad. As the investigation progresses, affected buyers await concrete action from the authorities and clarity on the recovery of their funds.
