Peddapalli, July 1: A woman allegedly beat her husband to death with a stick in Peddapalli district after accusing him of repeated drunken harassment and abuse, police said.
The incident took place on Wednesday in Hanuman Nagar of Peddapalli town. The deceased was identified as Srinivas. His wife, Pushpalatha, has been accused in the case.
According to local accounts, the couple originally belonged to Appannapet village and had been living in Hanuman Nagar for some time. Pushpalatha worked at a private school.
Locals alleged that Srinivas frequently consumed alcohol and demanded money from his wife. They also claimed he regularly harassed his wife and children while intoxicated.
Police said Pushpalatha allegedly attacked Srinivas with a stick during the night. He sustained severe head injuries and died at the scene.
After receiving information from residents, police reached the location, inspected the scene, and shifted the body for further procedures.
Police registered a case and started an investigation to determine the circumstances leading to the incident.
