Hyderabad, Sept.23 (Maxim News): Communist party of India (CPI) today demanded the Chief Minister K Chandrashelhar Rao to withdraw his proposals to privatize state owned TSRTC.
It warned of launching a state wide agitation if the CM went ahead with his decision to privatize the corporation.
CPI State Secretary Chada Venkat Reddy condemned the statement of the newly appointed TSRTC chairman Bajireddy Govardhan that the state government would privatise the corporation if its workers did not bring it back into profits within the next four months.
He said that it was shocks that the CM, who promised to merge the corporation with the state government, was now planning to privatise it. He said that it was very clear that the CM was following the footsteps of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the issue of the privatisation.
He made it clear that the neighbouring AP government was running the APSRTC into profits after its merger and added that it was cruel that the Telangana government was planning to privatize the TSRTC instead of merging it to bring it back in profits.
He made it clear that there were many ways to bring the corporation on the path of profits and added that the reduction of the taxes on diesel prices would provide some relief to the corporation. (Maxim News)
