Workshop on Molecular Biology & Bioinformatics concludes at MANUU

Hyderabad, Jan 20: A two-day workshop on “Tools and techniques of Molecular Biology and Bioinformatics-II” organized by the School of Sciences, Dept of Zoology, Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) in collaboration with Ruha Life sciences, Tarnaka concluded on January 19, 2023.

Prof. Saneem Fatima, Director, UGC-Human Resource Development Centre, MANUU in her inaugural speech expressed that this type of hands-on program gives an opportunity for skill development in the field of modern molecular biology and Bioinformatics to the faculty students of life sciences. The workshop manual was also released on the occasion.

The technical session-I on Bioinformatics- basics to advances in the genome sequence analysis was dealt with by Dr. Arvind Setti, Genome analyst, Ruha Life Sciences. The wet lab sessions on Cell, DNA, and Protein based techniques were demonstrated by the Research Scholars of Zoology at MANUU and Osmania University.

Prof. Salman Ahmad Khan, Dean, of the School of Sciences congratulated the conveners for organizing such a needy workshop after Covid-19. Prof. Parveen Jahan was the Convener whereas Dr. Arif Ahmad was the Co-Convener of the workshop.

The faculty and students from various academic and research Institutes participated in the workshop.
