The Young Chef Olympiad 2026 will bring an international culinary celebration to Hyderabad as part of its multi city journey across India. The International Institute of Hotel Management will host the 12th edition of the IIHM International Young Chef Olympiad, described as the world’s largest congregation of student chefs. The event will bring together young culinary talent from 50 countries and focus on food as a bridge between cultures.

Conceived in India and now celebrated across the globe, the Young Chef Olympiad has grown beyond a competition. It has evolved into a platform for culinary diplomacy, education, and cultural exchange. Therefore, the event positions food as a unifying force among nations, cultures, and future hospitality leaders. The 2026 edition continues this vision while adding a strong technology focus.

The theme for Young Chef Olympiad 2026 is “Preserving the World’s Global Culinary Heritage through AI.” The theme highlights how the Olympiad is transforming into a global learning ecosystem. It brings together technology, ethics, and human creativity. Meanwhile, the opening ceremony will take place in Bengaluru on February 1, 2026, with participation from all competing nations.

Hyderabad will play a key role in Young Chef Olympiad 2026. On February 2, 2026, the city will host the United World of Young Chefs International Food Festival. The festival will take place at The Glass Onion in Gachibowli. It will serve as one of the Olympiad’s most distinctive cultural showcases, celebrating culinary diplomacy and global friendship through food. Chef Shankar Krishnamurthy is supporting and partnering in curating the event.

The United World of Young Chefs International Food Festival is a non competitive event. It will feature 10 participating YCO countries presenting traditional and signature dishes. International mentors and young chef contestants will prepare the dishes live. The participating countries are France, Scotland, Belarus, Greece, Namibia, South Africa, Botswana, Nigeria, Ireland, and Switzerland. Each country will run an exclusive food counter highlighting its culinary heritage.

A major highlight of the evening will be the felicitation of 15 chefs from Hyderabad. They will receive the title of “ICON Chefs of Hyderabad” for their contribution to the city’s food culture. The festival will also feature Telangana and Andhra Pradesh cuisine counters by Chittoor Naidu, Palle Vindu, Pondy Parottas, and other partners. Later, a dessert counter by Cream Stone will conclude the evening.
