Hyderabad, Sept. 3: Police seized around 160 electric detonators allegedly abandoned near the Madras Regiment Army Camp at Bollaram on Wednesday.
Army personnel spotted a suspicious light green plastic bucket near the rear wall of the firing range. They alerted Bollaram police, who inspected the spot and found the detonators.
The detonators were packed in eight bundles, police said. A bomb disposal team from Malkajgiri and a sniffer dog examined the material.
160 Electric Detonators Secured After Army Camp Alert
The bomb disposal team identified the material as 33A size commercial electric detonators. Following the team’s directions, police moved the detonators to a safe location.
Bollaram police registered a case against unidentified persons who allegedly left the detonators near the Army camp.
Police have launched an investigation to determine the source of the detonators and why they were abandoned at the location.
