597 Persons Arrested For Playing Poker Game, Rs. 11.47 Lakh Seized

Nizamabad/Hyderabad, Nov 1 (Maxim News): Police conducted coordinated raids on illegal poker game operations across the Nizamabad police Commissionerate Limits on Thursday night and arrested 597 individuals engaged in poker games.

The police booked 116 cases against the arrested persons and seized Rs. 11.47 lakh cash from their possession. 

According to reports, police teams raided several places under the Commissionerate where poker games were being organized by gamblers.

As many as 267 persons were arrested and Rs. 5,03,570 was seized from them in the Nizamabad division.  Similarly, 138 persons were arrested in the Armoor division and Rs. 2,85,570 was seized from them.  In the Bodhan division, 192 persons were arrested and Rs. 3,58,100 was seized from them.

On reliable information that poker games were being organized on the occasion of Diwali in the district, the police team conducted raids and arrested persons.  During the operation, authorities seized numerous poker chips and playing cards, as well as computers. (Maxim News)
