According to the notification, officers have been appointed in both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh to oversee the land acquisition process. The expanded highway is expected to improve connectivity, ease travel time, enhance safety, and support regional economic growth between the two major cities. The decision underscores the Centre’s focus on upgrading national highway infrastructure to meet increasing traffic demand.

In Telangana, the responsibility for land acquisition has been delegated to Revenue Divisional Officers (RDOs) across multiple districts. The acquisition will cover nine villages in Choutuppal mandal of Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district, five in Chitya of Nalgonda district, five in Narketpally, four in Kattangur, two in Nakrekal, four in Kethepalli, four in Suryapet mandal of Suryapet district, six in Chivvemla, four in Kodad mandal, and five in Munagala mandal. These administrative zones will coordinate with state departments to complete documentation and compensation procedures for affected landowners.

The process will involve four villages in Nandigama mandal, four in Kanchikacherla, seven in Jaggayyapet, three in Penuganchiprolu, 12 in Ibrahimpatnam, one in Vijayawada Rural, two in Vijayawada West, and one village in Vijayawada North. Officials have been directed to expedite all necessary processes to avoid delays in the project’s commencement.

The Hyderabad-Vijayawada highway serves as a critical economic corridor between Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and the southern markets. Once completed, the six-lane expansion is expected to significantly reduce congestion and travel time while ensuring greater road safety and smoother transport of goods and passengers.
