Hyderabad: Food safety officials and police seized around 730 kg of suspected adulterated ginger-garlic paste during a raid on a manufacturing unit in Hayathnagar.
The operation was conducted by the Malkajgiri Food Adulteration Surveillance Team (M-FAST), Special Operations Team (SOT) LB Nagar and Hayathnagar police.
Officials found the unit manufacturing ginger-garlic paste under allegedly unhygienic conditions. An unidentified solution and food colour suspected to have been used in the manufacturing process were also seized.
One Person Apprehended, Case Registered
One person was apprehended during the operation, and a case was registered at Hayathnagar police station under relevant provisions of law.
Authorities are conducting further investigation to determine the nature of the seized substances and the extent of the alleged adulteration.
Further action will be taken based on the investigation and examination of the seized material, officials said.
