One Month Imprisonment Sentenced to APSRTC MD And 4 Others

Amravati/Hyderabad, May 5 (Maxim News): The Andhra Pradesh High Court expressed its anger against the state officials. Five officers were jailed for one month for disobeying the Court order.

Senior IAS and Principal Secretary to Transport Department, Krishna Babu and RTC MD Dwaraka Tirumala Rao have been sentenced to imprisonment for one month and a fine of one thousand rupees by the Andhra Pradesh High Court. The Court ordered the registrar to surrender before May 16. The court ordered the registrar to be sent to jail.

It has been stated that the responsibility for the execution of the orders lies with the superiors and if there are any difficulties in the execution of the orders, they should inform the Court and request an extension of the deadline. Apart from them, other RTC officials were also shocked by the AP High Court.

It was alleged that the authorities deliberately violated the court order. B.surendra of Chittoor, who is working as a fieldman in RTC, and three others have filed a petition in the AP High Court to regularize their service. After hearing the arguments, the court directed the employees to be regularized and their salaries to be paid to the petitioners along with 7 percent interest in August 2022.

However, Surendra and three others filed a contempt of court petition as the orders of the High Court were still not implemented. RTC lawyers argued that the appeal is pending. The High Court reminded that the Divisional Bench did not stay the appeal. This is why we are imposing imprisonment and fine on the officials, the bench said. (Maxim News)
