NCPA announces an exclusive live screening of the Symphony Orchestra of India (SOI)

Following the announcement of maestro Zubin Mehta’s much-anticipated concerts in India, the NCPA received an overwhelming response from the members of the NCPA, MMMF (Mehli Mehta Music Foundation, Friends of the SOI, and music lovers in the country. The box office recorded a remarkable response as both shows sold out within a few hours. As a gesture of appreciation for the audience’s interest, the NCPA has organized a live screening for audience members who are keen to watch this coveted performance.

The simulcast screening of the Zubin Mehta concert will be held on 19th August, at the Tata Theatre, simultaneously with the live performance at the Jamshed Bhabha Theatre.  The screening will provide an opportunity for a wider audience to experience the magic of Zubin Mehta conducting the SOI for the first time.

Announcing the screening of the concert, Mr. Khushroo N. Suntook, Chairman, NCPA and Co-founder, SOI, expressed, “The NCPA and the MMMF (Mehli Mehta Music Foundation) have received an encouraging response to the concerts. For music lovers who were unable to obtain tickets, we are delighted to organize a screening to provide an opportunity to be a part of this extraordinary musical experience. It is a moment of pride for the SOI to be conducted by the maestro for the first time and we promise to continue reaching newer heights in exhibiting the best of Western classical music in the country.”
