Imran Khan Booked: Faces Serious Cipher Case Charges
Former Pakistan Prime Minister, Imran Khan, is now facing charges under the Official Secrets Act 1923, related to the Cipher case. This information comes from a report by Geo News.
The Federal Investigation Agency’s counter-terrorism unit registered this case against Imran Khan, who is the chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI). This decision comes after investigations showed that Khan might have misused a confidential document. This happened after he lost his position as Prime Minister due to a no-confidence vote last April.
The specific charge against Khan is under Section 5 of the act. If he’s found guilty, he could face a prison sentence ranging from two to 14 years, and in extreme cases, even the death penalty. However, the officials have not yet released the full details of the charge.
