MCMC Committee Approvals are Mandatory for Advertisements of The Political Parties: Ronald Rose

Hyderabad, November 06: Advertisements in print, electronic media, audio, video display, advertisements in vehicles FM radio, bulk SMS, video messages, advertisements in cinema theatres, District Election Officer Ronald Rose said that permission to print pamphlets should be taken through the MCMC committee.

He said that the CPRO MCMC committee has been formed at the GHMC headquarters. He said that political parties and contesting candidates must get permission from MCMC.

He said that in case the publisher’s name, address, handbill, and other documents are printed on the pamphlets printed by the printing press, the election code of conduct should be followed properly.

He said that pamphlets should be printed without campaigning against anyone but criticizing caste, religion, court cases, and court judgments in the poster of such pamphlets.

Under Section 127A of the Representation of the Public Act 1951, any printing done without the name of the publisher and address of the person doing the printing will be prosecuted.

The printing management was asked to cooperate in this matter to get the permission of the MCMC committee to print any pamphlet.

Given the possibility of printers in the Hyderabad district doing printing related to other districts, they asked to get the permission of the MCMC committee of that district.
