MIM’s personal attacks on Congress aim to divert from real issues: Sameer
Hyderabad, November 14: Hyderabad District Congress Committee (DCC) President Sameer Waliullah has strongly condemned the Owaisi brothers for making personal attacks on Congress leaders, especially TPCC President A Revanth Reddy.
Speaking to the media after participating in the election campaign of Congress candidate Mujeebullah Shareef in the Charminar constituency on Tuesday, Waliullah said that MIM President Asaduddin Owaisi and MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi have been using indecent language against the Congress leaders.
“The Owaisi brothers have nothing to say about their performance or developmental activities in the Old City. Therefore, they are resorting to personal attacks against the Congress party and its leaders. This is nothing but an attempt to divert people’s attention from the real issues,” he alleged.
Sameer Waliullah said that the Congress party has been campaigning intensely in all constituencies of the Old City, raising public issues. “We are taking the six guarantees announced by the Congress party to every household. We are getting a tremendous response to the promises of a gas cylinder for Rs 500, Rs 2,500 for every woman, free bus travel for women, free electricity up to 200 units, a house site and Rs 5 lakh for the construction of a house for all homeless people, and other promises,” he said. “MIM leaders are unable to digest the response the Congress party is getting in the Old City, and therefore, they are resorting to mudslinging.”
The Congress leader said that the MIM leaders should introspect their approach towards elections and stop insulting people by talking about issues other than their problems. He said elections are the occasion to speak about public issues, seek grievances, and evaluate performance. However, by making personal remarks against the Congress leaders, the Owaisi brothers are hurting the sentiments of the common people.Sameer Waliullah said that the Congress will continue its campaign and expose the failures of MIM and the BRS government.
