Hyderabad: 524 Children Rescued Under The Operation Of Muskaan Programme
Hyderabad, Aug 1 (Maxim News): As part of implementing the Muskaan program, Hyderabad City Police coordinated with other departments, i.e., (1) the labor department, (2) the revenue department, (3) the District Child Protection Unit, (4) the child line and (5) NGOs (Asritha, Ankitha, Pratham).

As the Hyderabad Police Commissionarate is divided into 25 divisions, 25 teams were formed, each team consisting of one labor department official, one SI/ASI rank official, one official from the child and women protection unit, one member from the child line or NGO, one woman police personnel, and three HC/PCs. Four separate special teams were formed with AHTU and JB team staff to coordinate with the line departments & divisional teams.
In the month-long program from 01-07-2024 to 31-07-2024, the above-formed teams rescued a total of 524 children, of which 481 boys and 43 girls, 317 children belong to Telangana State, and 207 children belong to other states. Similarly, based on the working place, labor officers and NGOs lodged written complaints at the concerned police station, and registered (20) Twenty criminal cases against employers, further where criminal cases were not booked, the labor department imposed minimum wages. Thus an amount of Rs 11,21,121/- is imposed as a minimum wage fine to the employers to be paid to the victim’s children.

Due to the sincere efforts of our teams, Hyderabad district could get among the top place in rescuing children and imposing minimum wages against business establishment owners who employed child labour throughout the Telangana state.
